Our physical test facility provides the ability to undertake type testing to BS EN 520:2004

EN520:2004 consists of a range of clauses designed to define the parameters of plasterboards. The Building Test Centre is able to test to the following:

• Dimensions: Clauses 5.2, 5.3, 5.4
• Squareness of ends: Clause 5.5
• Taper Profile: Clause 5.6
• Flexural Strength: Clause 5.7
• Deflection under load: Clause5.8
• Surface water absorbtion: Clause 5.9.1
• Total water absorption: Clause 5.9.2
• Core cohesion at high temperature: Clause 5.10
• Density: Clause 5.11
• Surface hardness: Clause 5.12
• Shear strength: 5.13

Our physical test laboratory is capable of testing tensile, compressional and flexural strength of materials using a Zwick Roell static material testing machine. Ad hoc tests may be designed for your individual needs; please contact us for more information.
